We are busy setting up our web store so clients can buy directly off our website. We should have that running at least in part by end November 2010.
Through our dear friend Cherie Colburn's introduction to Bright Sky Press we ended up, very unexpectedly and beyond our wildest dreams, in the world of book illustrations through drawings and photography.
We are exited to announce that the first book, Heirloom Bulbs for Today by Chris Wiesinger and Cherie will be released in November 2010.
Since we have had several further developments along these lines and
are working with several other authors around similar engagements.
Lately the creativity fewer started getting real serious in the Art
Barn to the extend that our sons Jacques and Heinrich also started
taking a serious interest in the art. XBox and TV now is a rarety for
them and they rather spend time creating - exterior art for gardens,
wood sculptures and petrified wood necklaces.
They are also vital in helping us stage shows and we are very proud
of the way they engage with us. What a happy family - everything
parents could wish for!!
After the success at Bayou Bend's Spring event in which Loela
created some living art from the plants and trash (yes - we picked
their throw-away heap and created some "stop-in-the-tracks" artpieces
from it) and with the looming book signings, another unexpected avenue
suddenly opened - that of passionately sharing creativity with others
through talks, demonstrations and workshops.
Ever since we started unveiling our creations, the most common comment we got was that it would be fantastic as large pieces in corporate hallways and banquettes.
When one of our now clients, a corporate decorator, started yelling with excitement at the sight of the works, we realized the potential impact of that avenue and therefore ….
We are now on a mission to bring these works to the attention of the Corporate Art Collectors and to give them something fresh, different and new.
These art works are energetic and organic – ideal for the corporate environment. They communicate those attributes so needed in the corporate workplace. They also continue to capture and inspire the imagination as one can look at the same work for months and frequently discover something new in it that you have not noticed before.
